Dirty Face and a Broken Screen

Dirty Face and A Broken Screen, the eagerly anticipated debut album by Darren Roy Clarke, is now available. It follows on the heels of three well-received advanced singles from the recording.

The album blends delicate roots, confessional country, and heartbreak folk, and features a stellar line-up of guest musicians, including Travis Good of The Sadies (acoustic/electric guitars, banjo), Kerri Ough of the Good Lovelies (vocals), Michael Boguski of Blue Rodeo (piano), Melissa Payne (fiddle/vocals), and Ryan Weber of the Weber Brothers (Bass).

“I got to record this for Darren in his living room. He stood looking out the window to the woods playing his guitar and singing. Kerri Ough of The Good Lovelies sang a harmony and Ryan Weber added bowed bass later. A sprinkling of mellotron and done deal.”
